Lars Svensson

Lars Svensson combines an entreprenurial spirit with creative optimism and business, human and planet centric approach driving business enabled positive impact.

After his national service as sapper officer he completed School of Sapper Officers. He received his MBA from the Stockholm School of Economics 1992 with a postgraduate scholarship for Malay language studies at the National University of Singapore.   

Since 1992, he has worked in global, regional and local management roles based around Southeast Asia and Asia, mainly with IKEA but also for Novena Holdings, EF and Oriflame. In between it all, he returned to his native Sweden as Managing Director for Japro Energy Management Consulting and later as CEO and partner/owner for Internet start-up Global Events Online.

 

Over the last 15 years Lars have become more and more immersed in leading global and regional sustainability positions, driving both change, transformation, integration and development in the field.

 

Currently he is the Advisor and Chair of the Sustainability Committee of the Thai-Swedish Chamber Of Commerce, and has served as Councillor for Southwest CDC in Singapore. He serves as Thought Partner for Ashoka and Social Entreprenur Mentor for Unreasonable Group.

 

Married and with two teenagers, he is passionate about pottering  around the home – which he calls “the most important place in the world”.
